In an exciting webinar of how technology can transform healthcare, Ethnomet, SensorIQ, and Squadserve Limited recently co-hosted an event focused on the health of golf and tennis players, though the message resonated far beyond sports. The webinar brought together a lineup of respected medical professionals, community leaders, and technology innovators to emphasize the urgent need for preventive healthcare across Nigeria.
The event featured an impressive lineup of guest speakers, each bringing a unique perspective on health and wellness. Mr. Kayode Ahmadu, CEO of SensorIQ Nigeria and former Chief Technical Officer of Nigeria Mobile Telecommunications Limited, opened the event by emphasizing the importance of accessible health technology and SensorIQ’s role in distribution of EthnoRings. Dr. Joseph Enegela, a public health expert and CEO of ADRAP, highlighted the critical need for preventive healthcare and how digital tools can support prevention. Dr. Agwube Ahmadu, with over 30 years of clinical experience, spoke about the growing importance of remote care and home-based health solutions. Dame Julie Donli, former Lady Captain of the IBB Golf and Country Club and a renowned human rights advocate, encouraged athletes to adopt proactive health monitoring practices. Senator Emmanuel Anosike, a former senator and past captain of the same club, reflected on the importance of individuals monitoring their health. Rounding out the lineup, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, President of the Nigerian Golf Federation, championed the integration of digital health tools in Nigeria’s sporting landscape to foster healthier and more informed communities.
Throughout the event, attendees were introduced to Ethnomet’s suite of digital health products, including the Ethno Virtual Care Box, a comprehensive solution for remote diagnostics and virtual consultations, and were given insights into the company’s vision by its leadership team. Garnette Weber, co-founder and CEO of Ethnomet, brought her knowledge of healthcare to the stage as she shared how the company’s tools are designed to support chronic disease prevention, and accessible care for all. Her co-founder, Mike Amanyi, Chief Product Officer of Ethnomet, followed with a presentation on how the company is building Nigeria’s digital health infrastructure through innovation and went into detail on how these devices operate and make an impact within Nigeria. With over a decade of experience in developing tech solutions across Africa and Canada, Mike underscored the transformative potential of smart health systems.
